Man Utd ‘relying on Erling Haaland to push through £76m transfer’ with Solskjaer believing he is ready for next step
MANCHESTER UNITED are hoping red-hot striker Erling Brut Haaland pushes for a move to Old Trafford.
The 19-year-old has scored 28 goals in just 22 games in all competitions this season for his club RB Salzburg.
Unsurprisingly that has alerted some of Europe's top clubs to his availability.
But as SunSport exclusively revealed, United are confident of agreeing terms over a £76million move for the towering striker.
And now The Standard is reporting that boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has already held face-to-face talks with the talented teen.
Solskjaer is now relying on the player himself to force through a move - and he thinks Haaland "has already made a decision over his future".
SunSport understands the player is close to agreeing a switch to Old Trafford, on the basis Salzburg get to keep him for the remainder of the season.
Solskjaer had wanted to bring in the forward in January to boost the club’s battle for a top-four finish.

But his current club are insisting they will only do a deal if they are able to keep the brilliant teenager for the remainder of the campaign.
Haaland himself is keen on making the move to Old Trafford, but would be happy with the arrangement to be loaned back to his current club until May.
And while United would prefer to have him available straight away, such is their desire to snap up one of Europe’s best young players, they are thought to be coming round to the idea of accepting Salzburg’s terms.
