While Robertson is also suffering from a similar issue picked up during Sunday’s 3-1 win over Manchester City.

Salah has been regularly draining fluid from his ankle since being caught by Hamza Choudhury during Liverpool’s 2-1 win over Leicester on October 5.

The winger worked on a personal programme leading up to Sunday’s crunch clash at Anfield.

But the same part of Salah’s ankle received a heavy knock from City’s Fernandinho.

He insisted on linking up with his international teammates after the game.

But after undergoing a scan, Salah will not feature in Egypt’s upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Kenya and Comoros.

Meanwhile, Robertson will play not part in Scotland’s Euro 2020 qualifiers against Kazakhstan and Cyprus after also needing treatment for a swollen ankle.

Jurgen Klopp now faces an anxious wait to discover if the key duo will be fit for the next Premier League clash with Crystal Palace in two weeks’ time.
