Juventus legend Giorgio Chiellini could join Gareth Bale in quitting Europe this summer to finish career in MLS

JUVENTUS defender Giorgio Chiellini has been linked with a summer switch to MLS to finish his career.

The veteran Italian, 37, is claimed to be pondering his future in Turin despite being tied down at the Allianz Stadium until 2023.

In an injury-hit season, Chiellini has still managed to feature in 22 games in all competitions.

SunSport exclusively revealed last month how the Old Lady were preparing for life after the Euro 2020 winner after identifying Chelsea's Antonio Rudiger as a target.

It has even been reported that Chiellini has agreed to terminate his contract at Juve in the upcoming window.

And now transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has revealed he is open to leaving, and could be tempted by a move to America.

He tweeted: "Giorgio Chiellini’s considering to leave Juventus at the end of current season.

"And MLS could be his next destination - he’s tempted by this possibility.

"Current deal expires in June 2022 (2023) but Chiellini’s now open to try a new experience."

It's not only Chiellini that could decide to switch continents, with Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale also rumoured to be heading Stateside.

The 32-year-old is set to become a free agent when his deal at the Bernabeu expires at the end of the campaign.

And according to The Washington Post's Steven Goff, Bale could be poised to make the move to America ahead of the 2022 World Cup.

The reporter has declared that the forward is in negotiations with DC United about a potential transfer.

And he has even suggested they would be prepared to make him their highest-paid player in history after Wayne Rooney.

Rooney is believed to have pocketed around £300,000-a-week at Audi Field after arriving in 2018 from Everton.

Bale was recently urged by his ex-Wales international team-mate Jack Collison, who is the head coach of Atlanta United 2, to make the move to the MLS.
