A SURVEY of 3,100 US travellers has revealed which airplane rows and seats are most sought after by passengers.

Data from Upgraded Points found that out of 737-800 airplane seats, five came out top.

Seat 1A received the highest amount of votes with 5.96% of travellers claiming it their favourite.

Close behind was seats 7F (5.68%), 7A (5.63%), 1F (4.30%) and 7C (4.12%).

The seats that came out most popular all shared similar features such as more legroom and space to gaze out the window.

However, seat 1A narrowly beat the rest due to being at the front of the plane. This makes it the bulkhead seat as there are no rows in front.

Bulkhead seats allows for plenty of legroom and are a slightly less chaotic environment for passengers.

Being at the front of the plane, passengers in seats 1A and 1F also have easy toilet access, and they can get on and off the plane first. Usually, these are first class, business class, or premium class seats.

Seats 7A and 7F offer similar perks but for a cheaper price. These seats are also bulkheads.

However, seat 7C is down to preference. Being the aisle seat, the passenger in this seat can get up freely without disturbing their neighbour.

Thrillist Magazine recommends checking out the plane seat map ahead of time to secure your preferred seat before someone else does.
