The Young and the Restless star leaving show after two years and reveals new role as he insists ‘I’m not going anywhere’
A NEWER The Young and the Restless star has announced his departure from the show.
The soap star is taking on a new role after acting in a new film.
Trevor St. John, who plays Tucker McCall, is leaving The Young and the Restless.
He did not say when his last day is, but left a heartfelt message for fans.
“Dear [Y&R] fans: As you well know, Tuckers come and Tuckers go, and so the cycle continues… this Tucker is in his go phase,” he wrote on his X, formerly Twitter, account on June 18.
“I thank each and every member of the wonderful cast, the crew, the directors, the producers and production staff, and CBS/Sony for the great experience from day one to the last."

"I feel so fortunate to have played such a terrific role. Most importantly, I want to offer my heartfelt gratitude to you the [Y&R] fans. THANK YOU!" Trevor went on.
"Tucker might be gone for the time being, but I’m not going anywhere. I’ve got projects in the works, and if you haven’t seen my film, A GOOD ENOUGH DAY, it’s now available to stream for free on Tubi!” he ended.
He also directed the movie.
Trevor first joined the Young and the Restless in September 2022.

PICKING UP THE MC-CALL
When Trevor first joined The Young and the Restless, he talked to Soap Opera Digest about how shocked he was.
“I was both surprised and flattered,” he said about getting the call.
“Actually, surprised is not a strong enough word. I was more shocked.”
Trevor got to work with Eileen Davidson, who played Ashley.
He called her "super talented" and "growing more fearless every day."
The role of Tucker has previously been played by William Russ and Stephen Nichols.

SHOW SHAKE UP
Another actor that left The Young and the Restless is Brian Gaskill.
He started playing Seth Morgan in January 2024, but his time on the show didn't last long.
Brian's character was killed off in March, after only joining the soap two months prior.
“I had a great time on Young and the Restless with the producers, directors, publicity department, and other actors," he wrote in an Instagram post.
