TED Lasso fans have begged the co-creator not to destroy the show's legacy as he teases a possible fourth season.

Last week, series co-creator Bill Lawerence revealed that the team behind Ted Lasso is ready to go if they get the call to continue.

However, moving forward with Season 4 depends solely on the Apple TV series star, co-creator, and head writer, Jason Sudeikis, 48, Lawrence told Collider in an interview.

"Groupthink sometimes happens, even without talking to each other, and every actor, actress, writer, producer on that show - and [we didn't get] together and decide this was the message - we all loved the experience," Lawrence revealed.

He continued, "As fans, we'd all kill if it was going again, but everybody would say the same thing, which is, 'Whatever Jason feels like doing and whatever his decision is, we're all down with it.'"

"Not only is he the star, he's the head writer, and he's also the dude whose life just has to be completely overhauled and moved to a foreign country with young children," Lawrence admitted.

He concluded, "It's a big deal. So, as a fan, if someone's like, 'Oh, it's gonna happen again,' I'll go nuts. As a partner, I'm down for whatever he wants to do."

Ted Lasso stars Sudeikis as the ritual character - an American college football coach hired to coach an English soccer team.

The team's owner secretly hopes Lasso's inexperience will lead it to failure, but his optimistic leadership provides unexpected success.

The third season of Ted Lasso was riddled with behind-the-scenes issues, including the creative struggles of series co-creator, co-writer-and co-producer Jason Sudeikis as well as the delays caused by the COVID pandemic.

Due to its struggles, the series's third season was not as well received as the previous two.

Ted Lasso Season 3 acted as a suitable close to the series while allowing room for additional seasons, sequel series, and spinoffs to follow.

FAN RESPONSE

The Hollywood Reporter tweeted, "Ted Lasso Co-Creator Is Waiting on Jason Sudeikis to Make a 'Decision' About Season 4," after Lawrence's interview with Collider.

In the tweet's comment section, fans weighed in on a possible season 4 of the beloved series.

One fan wrote, "3 was really bad," before adding, "better to end it there."

"[Sudeikis] performance in season 3 made it quite clear he didn't want to be there. Both seasons 2 and 3 were a huge step down from season 1, and I think it's probably just best to leave it alone," agreed another.

As fans, we'd all kill if it was going again, but everybody would say the same thing, which is, 'Whatever Jason feels like doing and whatever his decision is, we're all down with it.'"

"As much as we loved the show, I think they gave Ted the perfect ending," added a third.

A fourth fan asked, "Why? It wrapped up perfectly!"

"The Ending was perfect," agreed another.

One fan wrote, "No, 3 seasons were enough" as another joked, "Hold out for that million an episode."

"No, it’s done. Do a spinoff," commented a third.

"The spinoff or a Season 4 should be Keeley and Rebecca running a women’s league team with Roy coaching," suggested a fourth.
