Poltergeist movie house goes on sale for first time since 1979 with listing addressing the ‘ghostly antics’
THE POLTERGEIST movie house has finally hit the markets for the first time since 1979.
The listing for the home even addressed its "ghostly antics."
The Simi Valley, California house was once the home of the 1982 classic horror film Poltergeist, which followed the Freeling family.
Since 1979, the home has remained off the market until recently.
Now, the California residency is being sold for a hefty $1.175 million.
The real estate listing from Equity Union Real Estate's Lauren Murdock acknowledged "ghostly antics" in their ad.

"This is the home where much of the first movie of the series was filmed but 'this house is clean... seriously, it is!" the listing read.
It also stated that the "home is ready to welcome a new family, without the ghostly antics, we promise!"
The iconic horror house had four bedrooms with two and a half bathrooms.
The listing said the home has a "thoughtfully designed layout that is perfect for entertaining, relaxing, and living your best life."

Additionally, the California abode has two levels and has a dining room that connects to a kitchen "where fans of the movie will love to see it's still in its original form but with updated appliances."
It also has a three-car garage and a pool with a diving board and jacuzzi.
The realtors noted that the 16,000 square-foot lot could potentially be "split and build a second home."
It is also said to be next to "great schools, parks, shopping [and] dining."
CURSED HOME?
The listing made sure to advertise that it wasn't haunted after there had been many talks that the film had been cursed since it was released in 1982.
The same year it hit theaters, actress Dominique Dunne was sadly murdered by her boyfriend at only 22 years old.
Six years after the film premiered, actress Heather O'Rourke died during a surgery in 1988 — she was only 12 years old.
Additionally, Poltergeist also had its unconventional ways of bringing horror to real life.
In 2022, JoBeth Williams revealed that actual human remains were used during the film's production.
"I always assumed that the skeletons were made by the prop department," JoBeth told Vanity Fair.
