From Southern comfort food, like chicken and waffles with mouth watering balsamic-marinated strawberries, to all you can eat Korean BBQ, new restaurants with diverse offerings and flavors are opening up in Lafayette and beyond.

Here is a round up of all the new Acadiana Restaurants that have opened so far in 2024.

SoLou

This Baton Rouge-based restaurant officially opened its doors in the beginning of June  in Lafayette and offers happy hour, brunch, lunch and dinner menus.

SoLou opened in the former Grub Burger Bar space at 1905 Kaliste Saloom with Louisiana comfort food like Boudin Queso, chicken and sweet cream waffles, parmesan truffle fries, and an array of soups, salads and burgers.

Ground Patti

Originally located on 2303 Johnston St, the new restaurant is now on 505 W Pont des Mouton Road as the Original Patti. 

Serving Authentic Cajun cuisine in Lafayette, with plate lunches and dine in, this locally owned restaurant closed their doors on Johnston and decided to expand into a upgraded facility on Pont Des Mounton.

Jim Deggys

Jim Deggy’s Brick Oven Pizza is located in the former Dat Dog building in Downtown Lafayette at 201 Jefferson st.

With only two locations, one in Lafayette and the other in Pinevillie, the restaurants conecpt features hand-tossed 10-inch pizzas cooked in a brick oven over a wood fire along with wings, salads and appetizers. Craft beer, wine and cocktails are also available. 

The Yard Goat

The Yard Goat, a new large patio-style bar at 116 Bertrand Drive, opened its doors recently and features a German style beer garden with fire pits, private party areas and luxury flat-screen TVs.

Customers can choose from 80 beers on tap, while sharing appetizers such as potato skins, fried brussels sprouts or wings. Entrees range from Cajun tacos, flatbread pizza, hot dogs, po-boys and burgers.

Bushido

Known for it's all you can eat style menu, this Sushi and Korean BBQ restaurant is located at 5741 Johnston St. in the former Mr. C's Landing and GL's Mongolian Grill building.

The menu is priced at $30 for dinner and $19 for lunch, and includes everything on the menu. The menu features poke bowl, ramen, dumplings, salad, soups and sushi rolls.

HTeaO

Featuring coffee, snacks and a secret menu with cotton candy flavored drinks, wedding cake and watermelon refresher drinks, this Texas based company opened in Lafayette a few months ago.

Located at 1606 Kaliste Saloom Road, HteaO brands itself as the largest iced tea franchise in the U.S. and includes 26 flavors of sweetened and unsweetened tea that are made naturally.

Dumpling Hour

At 3535 Ambassador Caffery Parkway, you can find chefs making dumplings by hand for dishes such as the Su's spicy beef that are made to order.

The menu is not only features steamed and pan fried dumplings, but also fried rice, chow mein, soups, and Asian cracklin chicken.

Kasai 

This restaurant features a hibachi-style experience, also known as teppanyaki, with food served over an open flame.

The restaurant is open next to Costco at 4617 Ambassador Caffery. With hibachi  tables, four of which will be in a private dining area, chefs there prepare food in front of customers in an entertaining fashion. A sushi bar and a cocktail bar is also featured.
