The Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a man after his body was discovered Wednesday morning.
Update: Authorities release identity of man found fatally shot
Deputies received reports of the body outside of a home Wednesday around 8:30 a.m. a few miles southwest of New Iberia in the 4300 block of Gerald James Drive, according to an IPSO spokesperson.
Deputies arrived to find the body lying in the front yard of the home. A bullet wound was discovered on the man's body. The man did not live at the address, according to the spokesperson.
Iberia Parish Coroner's Office has not released the name of the man.
An investigation is ongoing.
