UL coach Gerry Glasco has received an offer to be Texas Tech's next head coach and he's expected to give his answer Thursday morning.

Just a month after his UL Ragin’ Cajuns lost to Baylor in the NCAA Lafayette regional finals, signs are pointing to Gerry Glasco leaving the program.

Rounding Third Softball reported is expected to be named as Texas Tech new softball coach Thursday.

It’s been confirmed that Glasco has received an official offer from the Red Raiders and has until noon Thursday to deliver his decision to Texas Tech’s athletic department.

Glasco just completed his seventh season at UL with a record of 302-88. UL was 45-19 this past season and 22-2 in Sun Belt play.

In 2023, Glasco led the Cajuns to the super regionals for the first time in his tenure. A year later, UL hosted a regional for the first time in his seven years, but fell one win short of returning to super regional play.

During his seven years, Glasco extended UL’s national-best Sun Belt series winning streak that reached 89 consecutive league series.

Texas Tech lost its head softball coach Craig Snider to Tennessee on June 9, shortly after former UL assistant coaches Chris and Kate Malveaux left Tennessee to become co-head coaches at Auburn.

Snider was the head coach at Texas Tech for the last two seasons.
