Thomas Temple Sr. and Lauren Field reigned as King and Queen Assisi IV at the Krewe of Assisi's fourth annual royal ball at The Mallory in St. Francisville on Jan. 26.

The king and queen were presented in a tableau titled “It’s 5 O’clock Somewhere.” Assisi Ball Captain Steven McKinney called the festivities to order, and the evening began with a benediction by the Rev. Ben Shaw. Board president Angela Ray and Philanthropy Chair Brandy Fournet then presented the krewe’s 2024 philanthropic recipient, Child Advocacy Services, a check for $10,000. Immediately following, the soiree began with the traditional presentation of the krewe’s past court to the song “Linger Awhile.”

Royal pages to the king and queen were Blythe Mae Bryan, daughter of Laura and Darin Bryan; and Colt Estep, son of Julie Anne and Chad Estep.

The dukes and duchesses represented historic cocktails through the ages. Royal dukes to his majesty were Doug Mayer, representing the Sazerac; Charlie Perdue, representing the Old Fashioned; Justin Metz, representing the Grasshopper; and Richard Kendrick, representing the French 75.

Royal duchesses to her majesty were Lanya Mayer, representing Hurricane; Heather Robert, representing the Cosmo; Leigh Anne Jones, representing the Pink Squirrel; and Caroline Alberstadt, representing the Green Fairy.

Luke Williamson was the master of ceremonies. Tara Patin designed the costumes. After the program, the court and krewe enjoyed dancing and a midnight breakfast.
