We made it to Mardi Gras Monday, or Lundi Gras! It's time for the krewes of Proteus and Orpheus to take center stage.
The parades will be livestreamed on the NOLA.com Parade Cam starting at 5:15 p.m. in the video player above.
There will be a delay between the broadcast's start and the floats reaching the cameras, which are located at The Times-Picayune office at 840 St. Charles Avenue. You can also watch on Facebook, YouTube and Twitter.
The Parade Cam broadcast will be hosted by entrepreneur and host Alex Pomes and The NOLA Project actor Khiry Armstead.
This year's Parade Cam sponsors are NewOrleans.com and the National World War II Museum.

What to expect
Two parades will roll back-to-back tonight in New Orleans for Lundi Gras.
The Krewe of Proteus is up first with 230 male riders and 34 riding lieutenants on 20 floats. Proteus parades under the them "Commedia dell'Arte," which refers to an Italian theatrical form known for its improv and colorful characters. This theme will show up in themed floats such as Arlecchino (or Harlequinn) and Punch and Judy.
This krewe is known for its aquatic theme, which shows up in seahorse beads and the king riding in a giant seashell.

About the Krewe of Orpheus
The Krewe of Orpheus was founded in 1993 and first rolled in 1994.
They have upwards of 35 floats in their parade, including Leviathan, a three-part float of a grand sea dragon with a moving head and tails and smoke coming out its mouth.
Their signature throws are silver and gold doubloons, which can be compared to the size of a coaster.
Other parades happening today
- Krewe of Athena: 5:30 p.m., Metairie
- Krewe of Centurions: 6:30 p.m., Metairie

Did you know?
Although almost everyone lists the Carnival colors as purple, green and gold, officially, purple and green should never touch.
So the colors should be displayed top to bottom or left to right in the order of purple, gold and green.
Arthur Hardy: Carnival has flown the same colors since 1872
From Friday, Feb. 2 through Mardi Gras, on Feb. 13, The Times-Picayune | NOLA.com will livestream every parade that rolls by our St. Charles Avenue newsroom.
