The LSU Museum of Art is showing the space-themed, textile art exhibit, 'Fierce Planets: Work from the Studio Art Quilt Associates,' through July 28.

Show show is composed of 42 quilts and fiber art pieces inspired by the theme of planets and outer space. It was curated by the Studio Art Quilt Associations of Hebron, Connecticut, from entries submitted from throughout the world.

LSU's museum is the first stop for this traveling exhibit, which also is supplemented by mineral samples from the LSU Department of Geology and Geophysics and an installation by students in the LSU College of Art + Design.

Hours are 10 a.m.-8 p.m.  Tuesday through Friday; 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and 1-5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $5 for ages 13 and older; and free for children age 12 and younger, university students with ID and veterans with ID and their families.
