An 18-year-old has been arrested after he tried to fatally shoot his brother and barricaded himself from officers, the Baton Rouge Police Department said in a news release.
The shooting happened around 8:45 a.m. Wednesday in the 10000 block of Avenue H. According to the department, Arien Taylor attempted to kill his brother, then barricaded himself in the house and refused to come out.
Taylor eventually surrendered to Baton Rouge Police SWAT officers, the department said. He was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on counts of attempted second-degree murder and illegal use of weapons or dangerous instrumentalities.
An investigation is ongoing.
