Armed, masked suspects fired at two people at a Highland Road apartment complex Wednesday morning, injuring one of them, Baton Rouge Police said.
The shooting happened shortly before 3 a.m. at apartments in the 5000 block of Highland Road, police said in a news release.
"Detectives learned the victims were walking through the complex when they were approached by masked suspects that began shooting at them," police said.
The person who was shot was transported to the hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. The second person was unharmed, police said.
The case is under investigation by detectives with BRPD's Major Assaults Division.
