Photos: Exploring the lower Mississippi at the LSU Center for River Studies
The LSU Center for River Studies and Costal Protection and Restoration Authority hosted First Free Sunday where visitors could tour the exhibits and view the 10,000-square-foot Lower Mississippi River Physical model. The model uses data collected by the Army Corps of Engineers along the river at various monitoring stations to help simulate things such as flow and how sediment is transported along the 179 miles that starts at Donaldsonville and ends at the Gulf of Mexico.
