Weddings are expensive. In 2023, the average US wedding cost $35,000. We want to learn more about how people are financing them

You can’t put a price on love, but you can put a price on a wedding – and it will probably be pretty high. In 2023, the average cost of a wedding in the US was $35,000, according to a survey by the wedding website the Knot. In the UK, the average cost was £20,700. Venues are generally the biggest ticket item, and then there’s catering, the dress, the cake, the photographer and the florist.

How do couples afford these celebrations? If you’ve gotten married in the past 10 years, we want to hear from you: What was your wedding budget and how did you settle on it? What was the cost breakdown? Did you go into debt to finance your wedding? Did your family help out?
