John Gordillo, a veteran stand-up DVD director and former host of BBC Choice's topical show The RDA, continues to hone his performance skills with a powerful, challenging Edinburgh show. Divide And Conga tells the moving story of his communist Spanish father's integration into Britain, and deals with the politics that mask his emotions and influence their sometimes-difficult relationship. It is a testament to Gordillo's stand-up ability that this very personal show has just the right ratio of pathos to laughs, using incredibly evocative insights into their relationship and his father's psyche. You may not find a more accomplished Fringe show.
