Comedy review: Sabotage's 2nd Birthday Party, London

This article is more than 15 years old

Over the last couple of years, a variety of club nights have been set up in London with the specific intention of providing an alternative to the homogenised chains that grind comedians down, forcing them to play to audiences of stag parties and hen nights. One of the forefathers of this trend is Sabotage, hosted by Mark Talbot. Set up in 2006, Sabotage has always encouraged its acts to experiment, which means that you can catch well-known names doing something you might not normally see them doing. On Saturday at Sabotage's second birthday, expect more of the same, with sketch comedy from the media-savvy Fat Tongue and The Sunday Defensive, cutting-edge stand-up from Benny Boot and dark one-liners from Danny Ruddell.
