This article is more than 15 years old
City Hall, Friday 12 September

Muswell Hill-born Michael McIntyre speaks like an English throwback to comedy times of old, but his discipline is a very modern one of observational humour. Best practised by our American counterparts, McIntyres British slant on the style gets into our psyche by picking up on the minutiae of everyday life rush hour, etiquette and the weather and exposing our many foibles with a wonderful accuracy that allows us to laugh at ourselves. From showbiz stock his father Ray Cameron was a stand-up who worked with Barry Cryer and Kenny Everett he inhabits the stage like he was born there, charming the audience while also letting them influence his material.
