My worst fear

This article is more than 16 years old

It's always been my fear that when I die, I'll meet my end in a way that makes others smirk, if not chuckle and say, "That poor bastard".

Well, this Associated Press article on CNN.com exemplifies what I'm talking about:

Roofing Magnate Dies in Fall

BELOIT, Wisconsin (AP) -- The 91st-richest man in the United States, a roofing company billionaire, has died after falling through his home garage's roof, local authorities said Friday.

Ken Hendricks, 66, was checking on construction Thursday night on the roof at his home in the town of Rock when he fell through, Rock County Sheriff's Department Cmdr. Troy Knudson said.

Oh the situational irony of this! Luckily for Hendricks, all the late night comedy show writers are on strike or we'd never hear the end of this.

Dying the wrong way in media-saturated America can be an embarrassing thing.
