Aldi also announced it is bringing back a host of gin drinks that were fan favourites amongst shoppers.

The duped Haysmith's brand will save customers a significant amount compared to Malfy and Gordon's drinks.

Gin lovers across the country are set to rush to their nearest bargain retailer to get their hands on the "Sicilian-inspired" beverage.

It first hit Aldi's shelves last week, ahead of World Gin Day on June 8.

The Lemon Gin offers "fresh and citrusy lemon flavours combined with the finest juniper botanicals," according to the retailer.

You can order Aldi's gin online, but you'll need to click and collect from your nearest store.

The gin is available in all 1,000 supermarkets though, so you can also visit in person first if it's easier.

If you're really eager to try it, we recommend calling up first to make sure it's in stock.

It might be popular following the news, and you don't want to end up disappointed.

It comes after Aldi's own-branded gin was named the "best in the UK".

Aldi's Latest Specialbuys - and prices start from £3.99

Its £14.99 Haysmith's Seville orange and Persian lime gin took home the gold medal at The World Gin Awards.

The gin won the Best in Country award, as well as being crowned the Best in Britain within the flavoured Gin category.

The 70cl gin contains 40% alcohol and beats competitors including Tanqueray and Sipsmith on price.

Tanqueray’s bittersweet Flor de Sevilla gin costs a whopping £27 at Sainsbury's - 46% less.

It's also cheaper than Sipsmith's zesty orange gin, which is priced at £30 in Waitrose. This is 50% more than Aldi's own-brand gin.

This wasn't the first time that Aldi's booze picked up a prestigious award.

Last year, Haysmith’s rhubarb and ginger gin was named the best in the world at the International Wine and Spirit Competition (IWSC).

Judges praised Aldi's bottle, describing it as "magnificently well balanced" with "rich flavours of mouth-watering rhubarb”.

In 2019, its Greyson's Seville Orange and Persiawon the prestigious "masters" title at the Spirits Business Gin Masters Awards.

It cost £14.99 at the time too.

And in both 2017 and 2018, the supermarket's £9.99 Oliver Cromwell London Dry Gin became a sold-out sensation when it won top prize at the International Spirits Challenge (ISC) as well as the IWSC.

It beat brands such as Sipsmith, Beefeater and Gordon's.
