The terraced property, in Reading, costs £300,000 and has two bedrooms and one bath.

But, the new owner has their work cut out, and will need to be prepared to get their hands seriously dirty.

"Complete modernisation” is required throughout the bay-fronted period home.

The dining room can be seen in a state of disarray, with yellow caution tape strewn around.

And the kitchen is similarly gutted, again with caution tape cordoning off large areas of the room.

The walls appear to have seen better days, too, with large stains in some parts.

The agent has warned it is unlikely to be mortgageable, reports Luxury Property News.

While the positives to owning the home seem few and far between, the location seems to be the main selling point.

The property is described as being in close proximity to Caversham and Reading centres, and on a “sought avenue”.

The listing, held by Walmsley Estate Agency, reads: “Walmsley Estate Agency are pleased to offer to the market this bay fronted, period terrace, requiring complete modernisation, situated on a sought avenue, within close proximity of both Caversham & Reading centres and the river Thames.

“The accommodation comprises entrance hall, sitting room, dining room, kitchen, cloakroom, landing and three separate bedrooms.

I bought a mouldy home on wheels from Facebook for just £500 - yes, it’s disgusting and outdated but it’ll be ‘the dream’ thanks to bargains from B&M and Wickes

“To the rear of the property is an enclosed rear garden.

“EPC to follow Council tax band C.

“Please be advised, this property is uninhabitable, and therefore in most cases is not currently mortgageable.

“In order to purchase this property you will need to be a cash buyer or have a commercial financial facility in place. No onward chain.”

UK's 'worst' hoarder house

A three-storey house in Coundon, Coventry, West Midlands went on July 11 for an estimated £80,000 to £100,000.

Inside the seemingly regular property, buyers are met with a shocking hoard of junk and abandoned belongings.

Almost every inch of the house is covered with boxes, plastics, clothes and stomach-churning objects.

The bathroom has been left in a revolting state with the broken toilet filled to the brim with nauseating mess.

The walls, floors, and wallpaper look intact and in good condition, but are hidden behind the mountain of junk covering every room.

The property also boasts a small grass area in the front, a garden, a garage and an allocated parking - although they're crowded too.

The listing read: “The property requires clearance and modernisation and is located within a popular area of Coventry.

“To take part in the auction, you just need to turn up with two forms of ID (no need to pre-register) or register via our website for online, proxy or telephone bidding.
