Five ‘expensive looking’ luxury cars you can buy under £7k – including ‘executive’ Jaguar & just-discontinued Maserati
Some even drop under £3,000
A CAR expert has shared five "expensive-looking" luxury cars you can pick up today for under £7,000.
Drivers can pick up anything from an "executive" Jaguar saloon to a Maserati model that was only discontinued this year.

Jonny Brighton, known online as CarsWithJB, shared the high-end list on his YouTube channel.
Currently, the UK's cheapest new car is the Dacia Sandero at just £13,795.
And while the stylish supermini is a great deal, the used market can rustle up some hidden gems for around half the Sandero's price - if you know where to look.
Land Rover Discovery Sport

Example price: 2016 Discovery Sport with 143,880 miles for £4,670
Land Rover has seen its second-hand models suffer from some severe depreciation in recent years after the firm made a number of tech advances, particularly in terms of security.

While great for those who can stump up the £62,960 for the latest Discovery base model, this does mean that older version have been rendered obsolete in some senses.
As a result, you can pick up high-mileage examples from the mid-2010s for under £5,000 online, even those with the seven-seat setup.
Just be aware that the brand's previous struggles with thefts, which have since seen them invest £1 million in partnership with UK police forces, do mean they can be expensive to insure.
That being said, Jaguar Land Rover does run its own insurance programme in order to provide owners with more affordable options.

Jaguar XE R-Sport

Example price: 2015 XE with 148,000 miles for £2,300
This gorgeous "executive saloon" has seen a similar price slump to its sibling the Land Rover, which gives Jag lovers a great chance at a deal.
It was actually the starting point for the development of the XE Project 8, which JB described as a "beast of car".
But while the Project 8 will still set you back over £120,000, the R-Sport offers similar performance and luxury for under £3,000.
JB did warn, though, of electrical issues which have been known to develop on similar models from its era.
Mercedes S350L

Example price: 2008 Mercedes S350L with 74,000 miles for £4,995
As the only limousine model on the list, JB praised the S350L as a "luxury car that will probably look expensive forever".
Buyers should look out for the L model specifically as this provides the long wheel base and reclining for extra comfort.
Speaking of which, the seats use intelligent technology to partially inflate/deflate to accommodate your movement while turning and reduce driver discomfort.
As if that wasn't good enough, they also have a massage function for extra indulgence.
Some models even have self-closing doors.
Audi TTS

Example price: 2008 TTS with 111,000 miles for £4,800
The Audi TT was one of the German brand's most beloved models up until it's discontinuation in 2023.
Named for the legendary Isle of Man TT motorcycle race, it brought a sporty edge and sleek look that became the standard for a generation of sports cars.
The S version was the coupe variant of the original two-seater, which has outlived its parent car to this day.
Fortunately for bargain hunters, the model has been around for a long while, so older versions can be picked up on the cheap.
The only criticism from JB was that the rear seats could be considered uncomfortable, especially by luxury car standards.
Maserati Qauttroporte

Example price: 2005 Quattroporte with 80,768 miles for £6,350
It is frankly astonishing that you can pick up a Maserati for just a tick over £6,000 in this day and age.
The Italian supercar specialist regularly charges into the six-figures for its models, with the Quattroporte acting as a luxury twist on its traditional performance-centred output.
It was developed by legendary design house Pininfarina and makes use of a V8 engine co-developed with Ferrari, making it "crazy quick".
The model itself was only discontinued last month as the Trident looks to transition towards EVs.

JB also named it as the "best sounding" car on the list by far.
Just note that it can suffer from electrical issues and can be expensive to fix if something does go wrong.
