Horror as schoolgirl, 13, is dragged into woods and sexually assaulted by boy – with urgent hunt launched for attacker

AN urgent hunt has been launched after a schoolgirl was reportedly dragged into the woods and sexually assaulted.

The girl, 13, said the horror unfolded in broad daylight in Wickersley near Rotherham, South Yorkshire.

She claimed the boy who attacked her was about her age, and had a strong Scottish accent.

The assault was said to have happened in mid-May and cops are now pleading with the public to come forward.

South Yorkshire Police said: “The girl reported to officers she was walking alongside Wickersley Woods when she was pulled into the woods and assaulted by a boy she believes to be of similar age or slightly older than her.

“He has been described as white with freckles, blue eyes, and a large nose, around 5ft 9ins tall, and of a bigger build.

“He also has a strong Scottish accent.”

The attack was said to have happened around midday on either May 11 or May 12 this year.

Cops said enquiries are ongoing and the force is appealing for anyone with information about this incident to contact them on 101.
