On Valentine's Day that year, she and husband Prince Harry announced they were expecting their second child by sharing a black and white picture.

The monochrome photo showed the couple sitting under a tree, with Harry resting his hand on Meghan's head as she cradled her bump.

The mother-of-two was also snapped wearing the same head-turning silk dress when she shared a social media post to mark son Prince Archie’s first birthday in May 2020.

But rather than wearing her brunette locks loose like she did previously, she instead opted for a messy up-do.

Inside Sussexes' trip to Nigeria

The Duke and Duchess are spending three days in Nigeria to promote the Invictus Games.

The Sussexes will be taken to a hotel when they first touch down today, then visit the Light Academy, a school in nearby Wuse, before meeting defence leaders and visiting injured soldiers.

Tomorrow Harry's set to field a team during a seated volleyball match played by Nigeria's Invictus team, before he and Meghan meet with more soldiers and their families.

That afternoon Meghan will host a Women in Leadership event with Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, a Nigerian-American economist who is director general of the World Trade Organisation.

Then, on Sunday, the Sussexes will head along to a basketball clinic that promotes youth getting into the sport, enjoy a cultural reception and visit a polo fundraiser.

On Saturday, the 42-year-old said: “I [had] very quickly gotten the memo that I need to wear more colour so I can fit in with all of you in your incredible fashion. I am very overwhelmed.”

Earlier in the day, Meghan donned a traditional Nigerian skirt gifted to her as she and Harry unveiled a partnership between their Archewell Foundation and the non-profit Giants of Africa, which aims to empower young people through sport.

The royal couple then watched a practice session at Ilupeju Senior Grammar School in Lagos, Nigeria, before Harry, 39, showed off his basketball skills.

He said: “The power of sport can change lives.

“It brings people together and creates community and there are no barriers, which is the most important thing.”
