MANCHESTER UNITED have hijacked West Ham's move for Bayern Munich right-back Noussair Mazraoui, according to reports.

It was reported that the defender was closing in on a move to the Hammers, but now the deal has collapsed, and United are said to be in 'advanced talks'.

In other news, the Red Devils have reportedly received a boost in their pursuit of Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite.

The 22-year-old is intending not to sign a new deal at Goodison Park unless they can match the £160,000-a-week being offered by the Red Devils, according to reports.

Elsewhere, the Red Devils are interested in a move for PSG star Xavi Simons, according to reports.

  • Red Devils launch Nouss hunt

Manchester United could move in for Bayern Munich's Noussair Mazraoui.

Sky Germany believe West Ham's £16.5million move for the Morocco full-back is in danger of collapse.

And it's claimed the Red Devils are pondering a bid for the 26-year-old.

One report even claims the Red Devils are in talks over recruiting Mazraoui, who is well known to Old Trafford chief Erik ten Hag through their stints at Ajax.

  • Noussair Mazraoui hijack?

Manchester United could move in for Bayern Munich ace Noussair Mazraoui.

According to Sky Germany, West Ham’s £16.5million move for Mazraoui is in danger of collapse.

And it’s claimed United are pondering a bid for the 26-year-old during the summer transfer window.

One report even claims the Red Devils are in talks over recruiting the full-back, who is well known to Old Trafford boss Erik ten Hag through their stints at Ajax.

  • Ten Hag again calls for bigger squad

Erik ten Hag claims his "vulnerable" Manchester United squad needs reinforcement.

The Dutchman believes United can now "beat anyone" - thanks to new boys Leny Yoro and Joshua Zirkzee.

But Ten Hag fears injuries would change all that.

He said: "I want the squad as strong as possible.

"We already made two very good buys, so when everyone is fit we have a team that can beat everyone.

"But when we have injuries, we are vulnerable.

"We are looking in all the positions to reinforce. We need a plan with the squad to make sure we are occupied in every area.

"With squad depth, we need to catch up because last season we had injuries. This season will be survival of the fittest."

  • Utd name Georgson as coach

Manchester United have named Lillestrom manager Norwegian Andreas Georgson as first-team coach.

The former Brentford set-piece coach, 42, is the fourth major arrival in United's backroom this summer.

Georgson has also been at Malmo twice, as assistant manager and caretaker-boss.

Rene Hake, Ruud van Nistelrooy and Jelle ten Rouwelaar came in earlier to assist boss Erik ten Hag.

Now Georgson has been unveiled, having previously also coached at Arsenal and Southampton.

  • Red Devils linked to Denmark anchorman

Sporting Lisbon's Morten Hjulmand is the latest name linked with Manchester United.

Portuguese outlet Correio Da Manha suggest United are eyeing the 10-cap Denmark anchorman, 25.

Ironically, Sporting recruited him last summer to replace Manuel Ugarte, who left for PSG and is now also said to be on the Red Devils' radar.

Hjulmand played 30 games in helping Lisbon win the 2023-24 Portuguese title.

However, the former Lecce midfielder is under contract until 2028 and Sporting are determined to keep him.

  • Erik has '100% faith in Marcus'

Erik ten Hag is convinced Marcus Rashford will return to his 30-goal form of two seasons ago.

And the Manchester United manager is equally sure new coach Ruud van Nistelrooy can show him how.

Ten Hag said: “That is the reason why he is here.

“But not only for the strikers, he is much more than this but Rashford can only improve himself.

“He is capable, he scores so many goals and at a relative young age, so many goals, so he is capable of it.

“I am confident and have 100 per cent belief he can do the same as two years ago.”

  • Ten Hag challenges Rashford

Red Devils' strike legend Van Nistelrooy was brought onto the club's new coaching team to get the team finding the net again.

Rashford certainly needs to do that, having dropped from figures of 30 goals two seasons ago to eight last season.

That resulted in him losing his first-team place with United and being left out of Gareth Southgate’s England Euro squad.

Manager Erik ten Hag says it is ultimately down to the players but is convinced Van Nistelrooy could be a key figure in him getting back to his best.

  • Red Devils 'keen on Silva'

Manchester United could turn to Benfica's Antonio Silva in their hunt for another new centre-back.

Leny Yoro, 18, has already come in from Lille for £52million and instantly impressed in a friendly.

But deals for two players regarded as equally major targets have proved more tricky to tie up.

United are reportedly struggling to agree a fee for Bayern Munich's Matthijs de Ligt.

And Everton are holding out for a huge sum for England ace Jarrad Branthwaite.

Now O Jogo claim the Red Devils are tracking Silva - after the 20-year-old's brilliant 2023-24 club season.

The Portuguese outlet suggest Benfica might be prepared to sell him for half of his £42million release clause.

Real Madrid were reckoned to have monitored Silva in the past.

  • Red Devils announce FOURTH key backroom arrival

Manchester United have named Lillestrom manager Norwegian Andreas Georgson as first-team coach.

The former Brentford set-piece coach, 42, is the fourth major arrival in United's backroom this summer.

  • Man Utd & Arsenal face tough task to land Zubimendi

Prem giants are braced for disappointment if they pursue Martin Zubimendi.

Manchester United and especially Arsenal have reportedly been eyeing Real Sociedad's Spain midfielder.

    Credit: Getty

Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich have also been mentioned over the 25-year-old.

But GIVEMESPORT believe Zubimendi is more than happy at Sociedad.

The one-club man is under contract until 2027, with a release clause of £51million.

And it's reckoned Zubimendi will not look to leave Sociedad.

That means any move would probably depend on the LaLiga club accepting a sizeable offer.

Manager Erik ten Hag will be in charge for a third campaign - after surviving an end-of-season review.

And Maguire added: "Going into the summer, no-one knew what was happening, but the decision has been made now.

"We've got new members of staff with Ruud [van Nistelrooy] and Rene [Hake]. Everyone is looking forward to the season and hopefully we make it a successfully."

The Northern Ireland international, 29, spent five years at Old Trafford after coming through the youth ranks before leaving in 2016 for Sunderland, then managed by ex-United boss David Moyes.

McNair then joined Middlesbrough for £5m in 2018, where he won the club's Player of the Year award in 2021.

Now he has signed a free three-year deal with San Diego following the end of his contract with Championship side Boro.

But he will be flown straight back to England after the MLS outfit agreed a six-month loan with West Brom.

Part of the reason behind the short loan is because the club are waiting on the receipt of his International Transfer Certificate (ITC) and P-1 Visa.

McNair said: "Joining San Diego FC is an exciting new chapter in my career. When I first heard of San Diego, I had this gut feeling of excitement to play outside of England and have a chance to play in MLS.

"It’s going to be very special to be a part of history. I look forward to bringing my experience to the team and building a team San Diego can be proud of."

  • More from Maguire

After last season's FA Cup Final victory, which Harry Maguire missed through injury, Manchester United players did not know if they were going to a post-match celebration or Erik ten Hag’s farewell.

It was so strange. No one really knew what was going on. No one had assurance.

If you asked the players, they’ll probably just say they didn’t really know because no one really had a clue.

But, it was really impressive with the way that he handled that week and took them out with a victory against probably the best team in Europe at the moment.

    Harry Maguire
  • Maguire on Ten Hag

Manchester United ace Harry Maguire believes the uncertainty over Erik ten Hag’s future was the reason for the team's worst finish in the history of the Premier League.

Yeah, it was tough, some of the things that came out in the lead up to the Cup final were really poor, I felt.

He handled it brilliantly, to be honest, he just took each day as it comes. From us players, we didn’t see anything different in the manager, so credit to him for the way he handled it. And all his staff as well.

There was so much uncertainty around the club. Especially the staff, the manager, all of the other staff as well around the club, they didn’t know what was happening the following year. It was tough.

It probably did damage our performances and results throughout the season maybe a little bit. Especially when it happened around that Christmas period when we really did fall off.

But credit to the manager, the way that he handled it. To have the lead up in the way that he did and to produce a performance like we did in the cup final and turn things around was really impressive.
