GANGSTA rapper Dr Dre wants to add another string to his bow — as a competitor in the Olympics.

The Straight Outta Compton icon is a keen archer and is now aiming to make the squad for Team USA at the 2028 Games in LA.

Dre, 59, who performed alongside Snoop Dogg at Long Beach for the Paris closing ceremony, said: “I am going to try out for the Olympics in 2028 in archery. I am dead a** serious.”

He said of the handover ceremony: “It’s magical. I don’t even feel comfortable performing without Snoop.

“He’s the superstar. I’m the co-star on stage.”

Dre took up archery as a hobby a few years ago and in 2022 a clip of him teaching DJ Big Boy how to shoot arrows went viral.

In hoping to be like US archery champ Brady Ellison, he is not the first celeb to target the Olympic Games.

He said: “I started too late. It probably wasn’t my thing. I should have done a different sport.”
