Sky TV loses EIGHT channels this month but there’s a new arrival to watch now – full list of July changes

THERE are a number of channel changes on Sky boxes this month with eight disappearing and one new launch.

It means that some station numbers have also been shifted as a result.

The shake-up has largely come about due to some closures by Channel 4.

Five long-running music channels shut down last weekend, including The Box that has been on-air for 32 years.

Fortunately a new music channel has come along to help fill the void, in the form of NOW 90s and 00s.

SKY CHANNEL CLOSURES

Eight channels have disappeared from Sky this month - though not all of them have completely shut down.

Channel 4 has removed its SD (standard definition) broadcasts from satellite, so you can still technically watch via the HD one instead.

As we've reported, The Box music channels have now closed.

This includes The Box, Kiss, 4Music, Magic and Kerrang.

As the channels have closed down completely, they have disappeared from Virgin Media too.

Elsewhere, Inspiration TV and Dunya News have closed permanently.

SKY CHANNEL LAUNCHES

While there's been an exodus of music channels, there has been a new launch to fill the gap.

NOW 90s and 00s has landed on Sky - but only on satellite for now.

NOW already has a number of music channels on satellite TV, including NOW 70s, NOW 80s and NOW ROCK.

You can find NOW 90s and 00s on Sky satellite channel 357 now.

SKY CHANNEL CHANGES

As a result of all these closures and the new channel launch, there has been a shift in station numbers.

Notably, the NOW channels have taken up the spots left by The Box and co.

These only appear to Sky satellite, as NOW channels aren't available on Sky Glass and Sky Stream currently.

Aside from this, Sky has made its usual switch up on Sky Cinema, changing the name and theme of some.

• That's 60s (satellite 365) rebrands to That's Memories
• Sky 10s (satellite 304/849 - Sky Glass/Stream 304) renames to Sky Greats
• Sky Pride (satellite 302 - Sky Glass/Stream 302) renames to Sky Spies
• Sky Hits (satellite 303 - Sky Glass/Stream 303) renames to Sky2024Picks
