LOVE Island fans have been left thrilled after newcomers AJ Bunker and Danny Bibby were dumped from the show - ahead of THREE new bombshells arriving.

Last night's episode ended on a huge cliffhanger with the Islanders having to choose which two contestants went home out of the six that received the fewest public votes.

Danny and AJ were up against Toby, Teddy, Lucinda, and Chloe - with one boy and one girl being dumped.

Viewers were shocked that they chose to dump the newbies - who only made their arrival into the villa last week - with AJ facing further salt in the wound when her partner Hugo delivered the news.

Neither Danny or AJ had the opportunity to make their mark, but those watching at home were grateful that their fan favourites had survived another day.

Taking to Twitter, one fan wrote: "AJ and Danny were both looking LOST anyways."

Another added: "Good riddance to Danny, I feel bad for AJ but I'm glad my faves are safe."

A third agreed: "Totally the right decision."

AJ had been coupled up with Hugo, but he had made it clear that he isn't interested in pursuing a romantic relationship with her.

Meanwhile, Danny had paired off with Lucinda after she'd been left single by partner Brad being dumped.

But things turned rocky between the two when she continued to chat with Aaron, who she'd previously been growing close to.

The plumber called time on their romance and instead started to pursue AJ before Islanders received the shock news of a dumping.

Despite tattooed Danny being in the villa for less than a week, he was at the centre of multiple scandals - with 1,000 furious viewers complaining to Ofcom after producers allowed him to stay on the show despite being caught using racist slurs on social media.

The Sun revealed last week that Danny had dropped the N-word during a conversation with a pal on Instagram.

There was also concern after fans claimed he exhibited "red flags" when speaking to Lucinda - warning her not to "mug him off".

The villa beds won't be empty for long though, with bombshells Tyler Cruickshank, Abigail Rawling, and Georgia Townend making their debut straight after the exit.
