AN ENGLAND football legend has turned down a spot on Strictly Come Dancing - yet jungle japes could still be on the cards.

Former Liverpool striker Michael Owen, 43, told how there was "no way" he would follow in the fancy footsteps of ex footie favourite Tony Adams, 56, with a spot on the BBC show.

Michael - who is the father of former Love Island star Gemma Owen, 20 - has left the door open for an I'm A Celebrity stint.

He admitted he had picked up "tips" from his famous mates who had endured jungle life, before he confirmed he had "looked into" starring on ITV's hit series fronted by Ant McPartlin, 47, and Declan Donnelly, also 47.

Michael told The Daily Star of potential reality TV gigs and said: "I ain't dancing for anyone. No way, no way! I wouldn't, I couldn't dance."

He added: "I think I'm A Celebrity has parts of it that I think that would be good fun to do.

“Again it's just the time it takes, and I mean I've worked with a few of the people that have been on it, like Kieron Dyer and Harry Redknapp and people like that amongst others, other people on the show before.

"They've given me a few tips on what's good and what's bad and things like that and what they did like and what they didn't.

"But I don't know, I've sort of looked into it couple of years ago and it didn't work in my diary – but you never know in the future."

Meanwhile, fans are less convinced about his latest career move - this being a clothing collection with Peacocks.

Fans have dubbed the collection "beyond Partridge" as he modelled the conservative clothing.

He posed and pouted in a range of safe, neutral colours, as well as heading and kicking a ball in some clips.

But more than one fan compared him to comic character Alan Partridge, a tacky broadcaster who preened around in "sports casual" clothing.

"It's beyond Partridge," claimed one viewer of the Peacocks adverts, and "So Partridge," said another.
