Axed BBC presenter breaks silence on new role as his show is scrapped after 16 years on air
Despite being offered another role within the BBC, he made the bold choice to opt for redundancy instead
AN axed BBC presenter has finally broken his silence on his new role as his show was scrapped after 16 years on air.
The popular host bid farewell to his listeners at BBC Radio London in January after announcing in October that his show was being replaced.

But now Jason Rosam is set to make a comeback to the airwaves with a new breakfast show on Riverside Radio starting from March 11.
In an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk ahead of his radio comeback, Rosam opened up about his decision to part ways with the BBC after 16 years.
Despite being offered another role within the BBC, he made the bold choice to opt for redundancy instead.
"I decided to take redundancy from the BBC after 16 years because they were getting rid of the show," he said.

"They were changing things - you know about the regionalisation of the local radio - and it wasn't that I wasn't happy.
"I loved my time at The BBC. It was actually amazing and I did some wonderful things. I was there at all the sort of events that you'd want to be at as a journalist. It was incredible. But I just thought the time had come to move on."
Jason shared that he was offered another job but decided to pass on it and leave the organization instead.
The former BBC presenter added: "I was asked to go and do one in fact, to go and present one. That was going to be the next thing that they wanted me to do but I turned it down because I didn't want to do it.

"Plus I didn't really know anything about Norfolk and Suffolk and Cambridge, which is where they wanted to send me. But it's (regionalisation) a shame. It's just a shame, isn't it?"

Jason shared that he is excited for his new role on Riverside Radio.
A decade ago, he started Riverside Radio as a community radio station, running it alongside his BBC gig.

Joining him throughout the week will be, Alison Palmer, Ali Ineson, and Britain's got Talent finalist comedian and impressionist Suzi Wild.
At the time of his departure from BBC Radio London, Jason said: " "What an adventure!
"It's been an extraordinary 16 year ride at the BBC filled with stories, moments, and experiences that have shaped me in profound ways.
"My final Early Breakfast show is [this morning] at 5am."
He then poignantly added: "It's not goodbye but a 'see you later.' "
Riverside Breakfast with Jason Rosam and Battersea Power Station will launch on Monday 11 March at 7am.
