Alice passed away the next day and yesterday her family celebrated her life at her funeral at St Patrick's Catholic Church on Marshside Road, in Sefton town.

Today Kate and co-star Richard Madeley spoke out about the heartbreaking attack on this morning's instalment of GMB.

Kate opened the segment by saying: "The funeral of Alice da Silver Aguiar - she is one of the three girls murdered at a Taylor Swift-themed dance class in Southport.

"Her parents called have called for no more violence, no more rioting, at an emotional funeral for their daughter."

Richard added: "It was incredibly moving.

"Obviously these terrible riots, followed the deaths and these riots happened up and down the country after misinformation online said that the suspect was an asylum seeker who'd arrived in the UK by boat – which was total rubbish.

'Addressing the mourners, the Chief Constable of Merseyside told rioters they should hang their heads in shame.'

They then went live to one of their correspondents Katy Rickitt in Southport.

After she spoke to the camera, they went back to the studio and Kate and Richard were clearly overcome with emotion.

One viewer pointed out on X: "Bit late this morning so have rewound #gmb to the start and bless Kate, you can tell she's trying not to cry when talking about that little girl from Southport. So so so sad."

Parents share heartbreaking video of Alice Da Silva Aguiar, 9, on day of her funeral and say she’s ‘dancing into heaven’

Alice's heartbroken family shared heart-wrenching photos of their daughter after her funeral today.

One of the images shows the nine-year-old excitedly posing next to a Taylor Swift cutout moments before tragedy struck at a holiday dance class last month.

Alice's heartbroken parents, Sergio and Alexandra, were joined by family and friends at the private service and cremation.

A letter they wrote to Alice was read out during the ceremony in which they said: "You were our perfect dream child. Everything was idyllic from the moment you arrived."

They added: "Being around you was a privilege. We cherished every milestone. You completed us."

It closed: "Mummy and daddy will always, always love you."

Hundreds of mourners dressed all in white gathered along Marshside Road to pay their respects.

"It is going to be profoundly sad, but it's not only going to be that, because we will be looking into what her parents believe," said Father John before the service.

"Alexandra and Sergio, her mum and dad, believe in the resurrection. They don't believe this is the end.

"So the way they express that is 'let her dance to heaven', because she loved dancing, and that is a beautiful image."

He added: "Our hearts reach out to her family and the families of the two other girls who died and those who are injured.
