This week AJ Pritchard's devastated ex Abbie Quinnen, 25, claimed he told her they were over on a park bench - before moving on to a stunning model.
And Elon Musk's ex-wife Justine reveals in an upcoming BBC documentary how she only found out their marriage was over via their therapist.
Here we look at other celeb heartbreakers who chose a savage way to dump their blindsided other halves.
Dumped via text
The sweet love story between Perrie Edwards and Zayn Malik, both 29, who met on The X Factor in 2011, made us all gooey.

The power couple were together for four years and engaged for two - but they were rocked by allegations Zayn had cheated.
And their romance came to an abrupt end when Zayn reportedly dumped her via text in 2015.
Zayn fiercely denied this, but Perrie wrote about the ordeal in Little Mix's 2016 autobiography, One World.
"It was horrible, the worst time in my life," she admitted.

"A four-year relationship, two-year engagement, ended by a simple text message.
"Just like that. Even though things in my career were going really well, it was incredibly difficult for me."
Perrie has since moved on with footballer Alex-Oxlade-Chamberlain, while Zayn dated Gigi Hadid for six years.
Married someone else while engaged
When Jurassic Park star Laura Dern, 55, left the home she shared with fiancé Billy Bob Thornton, 67, to film a movie in 1999, she thought their relationship was solid.
Little did she know that months later she'd be reading about his wedding to Angelina Jolie, 47.
The couple had bonded on the set of Pushing Tin - and to make matters worse, Laura allegedly babysat Angelina as a child.
In an interview, heartbroken Lauren said: "I left our home to work on a movie, and while I was away, my boyfriend got married, and I’ve never heard from him again."
Years down the line, Angelina, 47, was blamed for the breakdown of Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston's marriage, after she and Pitt got close while filming Mr and Mrs Smith in 2004.
Found out in the media
When Kim Kardashian announced her separation from Kris Humphries, 37, after 72 days of marriage in October 2011, he reportedly found out the same way as everyone else - through the media.
It was said Kris hadn't wanted to split from the reality star, 41, and had tried to save their marriage, but was blindsided by the divorce news.
After a lengthy and bitter legal battle they finally came to an agreement in April 2013.
In an essay about how the divorce impacted him, Kris wrote: "It’s never easy to go through the embarrassment of something like that... It was brutal."
A 27-second call
American superstars Taylor Swift, 32, and Joe Jonas, 33, dated for three months from July 2008.
Their break-up was messy and is said to have inspired a number of songs on her Fearless album.
During an interview with Ellen DeGeneres, Taylor claimed Joe had dumped her during a phone call that lasted just 27 seconds.
She said: "You know what, it’s like, when I find that person that is right for me, he’ll be wonderful.
"When I look at that person, I’m not even going to remember the boy who broke up with me over the phone in 27 seconds when I was 18.”
Dumped via fax
Hollywood icon Daniel Day Lewis has been romantically linked to some of the biggest names in the industry.
His break-up techniques, however, leave a lot to be desired. The 65-year-old is said to have dumped French model Isabelle Adjani via fax while she was pregnant with their son Gabriel in 1995.
And she wasn't the only one to have been stung.
He reportedly married his current wife, Rebecca Miller, while he was dating Deya Pichardo, who was living in his New York apartment at the time.
He and Miller have been together since 1996.

Rita Ora, 31, was said to be embarrassed after finding out her relationship with Calvin Harris, 38, had come to an end via Twitter in 2014.
He tweeted: "To address speculation - myself and Rita ended our relationship some time ago. She is a beautiful, talented woman & I wish her all the best."
But a source told The Sun that Rita was shocked by the announcement.
They had been dating for a little over a year and collaborated on the number one hit I Will Never Let You Down.
Calvin is now engaged to Vick Hope while Rita recently married Taika Waititi.
Dumped on Oprah
Movie stars Matt Damon, 52, and Minnie Driver's relationship came to an end when he infamously went on the Oprah Winfrey Show and declared he was single.
They had started dating after starring together in the 1997 film Good Will Hunting, which served as the stepping stone to Matt's successful career.
Earlier this year Minnie, 52, reflected on how badly she was affected by the public nature of their split.
She said: "I don’t care who you are, that is agony and it’s like a strange, surreal dream."
Six-page letter
Rocky actor Sylvester Stallone, 76, took a very formal approach to ending his relationship with model Jennifer Flavin, 54, in 1994 after five years.
He is said to have handwritten a six page letter, delivered by FedEx, to explain why their relationship was over - but left out the fact he'd been having an affair with supermodel Janice Dickinson.
They eventually healed their broken relationship a year later and got married in 1997.
In August this year she filed for divorce - but they reconciled less than a month later.
Via text on New Year's Eve
When comedian Russell Brand, 47, and singer Katy Perry, 37, married in October 2010, it took many people by surprise.
But after rumours persisted that they were on the verge of a divorce, she took to Twitter to assure fans that they were okay.
Shortly afterwards, Russell filed for divorce on December 30, 2011 and informed her of his decision a day later on New Year's Eve.
In a 2013 interview, she said: "Let’s just say I haven’t heard from him since he texted me saying he was divorcing me December 31, 2011."
Katy now shares a daughter with long-term partner Orlando Bloom, while Russell married his childhood sweetheart Laura Gallache and has two kids.
Dumped before a show
Moments before she went on stage for a performance, Ariana Grande claims she was brutally dumped via text.
Although she has never revealed who the culprit was, fans reckon it was Australian YouTube star Jai Brooks, who she dated up until August 2013.
