Gareth Southgate

Gareth Southgate is the former England football manager. He formerly played for the Three Lions, along with Middlesbrough, Aston Villa and Crystal Palace and infamously had a penalty kick saved as Germany beat England at Euro 96. Under Southgate’s leadership, England reached the semi-finals of the 2018 World Cup, the final of Euro 2020, the quarter-finals of the 2022 World Cup before the Three Lions lost 2-1 to Spain at Euro 2024. Southgate resigned after Euro 2024 after eight years and 102 games in charge of his country.
