The short video was titled “Downstairs toilet renovation in our new build home for under £100.”

At the start of the footage, the toilet door opens to reveal a perfectly fine, if rather drab, scene.

Along with a white sink and toilet, the walls are also white with a grey floor.

The property’s fuse box sticks out, appearing on the right hand side of the back wall.

The door then opens once more to show off what it looks like now and it is much more appealing.

While the sink and toilet and floor have remained, the room is now much more inviting due to some soft lighting and grey panelling running along the bottom of the walls.

The fuse box is now covered up in its own little cabinet.

The clip has become a big hit on the social media site, notching up more than 19,000 likes and over 200 comments.

Commentators were suitably impressed, saying it “looks great” and was a “grand job”.

They also chipped in with their own questions about how the toilet was transformed so cheaply.

In answering a query about the fuse box cabinet, the poster revealed they had bought it from for just £20, adding it made a “big difference finally covering up the electrics”.

Someone else asked about the wall panelling, saying it looked “so pretty” with the original poster saying they had done it themselves.

Then replying to a follow up question from someone else, they said they had bought them from B&Q and cost her £40.

The poser also revealed the paint used was “Elephants breath” from Farrow & Ball.

They also said she had bought the vase and flowers from TK Maxx.
