Mike watches on as GardX staff member Alan wipes on the paint protection product GX2, which uses graphene for extra resistance.

In the video, Mike explains: "They protect the paintwork on you car, whether it's new or used.

"It looks amazing, doesn't it? It has changed colour."

Alan goes into more detail, promising it's a one-and-done policy.

He says: "It's a new product for the industry, it's got graphene in it which gives it a harder finish, a brighter gloss.

"One application. Once it's done, it's a lifetime policy."

Mike added that washing the vehicle would then always reveal the picture-perfect paintwork.

Mike said: "All we need to do is when we wash it, just give it a soapy wash and it will clean up and look exactly like this because the paintwork is underneath the layer of protective coating.

"The paintwork is now protected forever."

GardX announced the launch of the product in November.

Wheeler Dealers' Mike Brewer waves goodbye to 'wonderful' Ford pick-up - and replaces it with 'jack of all trades'

A company statement said it was a huge step forward in paint protection, taking full advantage of the latest available technology.

Chief revenue officer Dylan Haskell at the time said it would be "elevating performance and embracing the potential of new formulations such as Graphene".

He added it would offer "A superior end-consumer proposition".

Mike told motorists: "Look out for it at your dealerships."

Bargain hunters inspired by the Wheeler Dealers star might also be on the lookout for an iconic super-wagon after Mike recently sung its praises.

The much-loved host spoke to Car Dealer Magazine about the Volvo 850, once a common feature on British roads.

He said: "It follows all of Volvo’s classic styling traits – aka, make a box and put four wheels underneath it - and it looks brilliant, even today.

"It’s considerably different to the rounded, smooth look of modern cars – and I think that makes it even more appealing."

The Sun reported the 850 could be snapped up for just £4,000 on car auction site Cars & Classics.

Speaking of Mike's loved motors, it was also revealed that a 1980s hatchback he bought on a Wheeler Dealers episode years ago had now exploded in value.

In 2005, Mike purchased a 1989 Lancia Delta HF Integrale 8v for £2,300.

But in today’s market, the very rare model can be worth more than £18,000, with one selling on the Collecting Cars auction website for that crazy figure in 2023.
