Heartbreaking tributes for Irish man who died in Tenerife as friends in touching gesture for ‘beautiful send-off’
AN Irish man has been remembered as "one of life’s shooting stars," after his tragic death in Tenerife recently.
Talented musician, Kevin Ryan, who was from Co Mayo and Berlin, Germany, died just days before Christmas.
He was laid to rest on January 8th in the Church of the Sacred Heart, Crossboyne.
And a group of his friends set up a GoFundMe campaign on Friday to help aid in family with the costs of his repatriation and his "beautiful send-off" in Crossboyne last week.
They said: "Hello all. We wanted to send a heartfelt message to everyone who was lucky enough to know Kevin, and to be a part of the beautiful community that he made wherever he went.
"We hope you’re doing okay, given this awful loss. Kevin will be so terribly missed.

"We are getting in touch because we want to let you know about this fundraising effort we have set up to help Kevin's family with the significant cost of his final journey - his repatriation from Tenerife back to Ireland and his beautiful send-off in Crossboyne.
"We know that times are tight, so if you are in a position to donate, please know that it would be most appreciated and helpful."
The campaign has raised €11,192 so far for the heartfelt cause.
Kevin, who is predeceased by his father, will be "sadly missed" by his mother Marcella and partner Terence, brothers Rory and Oliver and partners Monika and Caitlin, nephews Axel and Oisin, aunt Chrisse Moran, uncles Michael, James and Frank, cousins, relatives and friends in Berlin, Spain and Ireland.

Heartbreaking tributes have poured in for the young man, who has been remembered for his "generous soul" and "talent."
One person said: "Dear Marcella, Terence, Rory, Oliver, and your extended family, I was deeply saddened to hear of Kevin's death.
"He was so full of life and good intentions. A great light in so many ways, who will remain a light in our lives and the arts community he served so well.
"Take care of yourselves and know his spirit lives on."
Another wrote on the campaign: "There are no words of comfort that can make this devastating loss easier to bear, except to say our love, thoughts and prayers are with all the family xx
"Kevin was one of life’s shooting stars, he shone so bright but ended way too soon, but for those of us who were lucky to have been touched by his presence, he will never be forgotten.
"Sending all our love always x."
Another friend said: "Our beautiful Kevin Ryan gone too soon. I will miss you every day my friend. Thank you for your music and your generous soul."
A fourth mourner added: "We feel so sorry that you are gone. No words can describe the loss and grief of your family and friends.
"Thank you that you made the world a better one and left us so many beautiful memories and treasures.
"A big thank you to such a talented artist and warm-hearted soul!"
