According to the current indications from the forecaster, unsettled conditions will continue through Sunday and into next week.

This comes as the remnants of "damaging" Hurricane Ernesto are expected to hit Ireland in days, a weather expert has warned.

The hurricane is currently tracking in Ireland's direction from the other side of the Atlantic Ocean.

Carlow Weather's Alan O'Reilly said what is left of the tropical storm could make landfall on Wednesday night, August 21.

TEOLOGIXMHe told his Instagram followers in an update: "Hurricane Ernesto has gone through Bermuda causing some damage and it will take a turn Northeast into the Atlantic this week with the remnants possibly bringing us some windy weather Wednesday night into Thursday."
