Mack Hansen reveals hilarious lengths Andy Farrell resorted to in order to smuggle him into Ireland party

The twinkle-toed winger also shared his expected return date from injury

ANDY FARRELL clearly fosters a lot of affection from his players and it's easy to see why after this latest tale supplied by Mack Hansen.

The 25-year-old had to make do with being a fan this year as Ireland retained the Six Nations.

Yet despite that, Farrell went above and beyond to make sure he still participated in the post-tournament party!

Hansen is usually the heart and soul of celebrations but was a bit sheepish about the idea of tagging along this year since he hadn't contributed.

However, Farrell clearly wasn't taking no for an answer as Hansen recounted on the Kick Offs and Kick Ons podcast.

He shared: "I tried to distance myself. Faz...I was up there during the week.

"Faz was telling me to come up to the games and then come to the p**s-up on Sunday but I told him, 'I have rehab on Monday, I can't.'

"He said, 'oh, don't worry, I'll call your physio and we'll get that off for you.' I pretty much had to go in!

"I'd say it was wild enough. But no missed calls...yet. Today is normally the big one."

Of course, his physio is now 100% aware that he wasn't too laid low with illness over St Patrick's weekend.

However, we reckon him sharing the amusing nugget was still worth it as it highlights what an endearing character Farrell is.

As for the more serious business of when Connacht fans can expect to see him back racing up the wing at The Sportsground?

He commented: "Rehab is ahead of schedule.

"I don't think I'm going to rush back but, yeah, aiming towards the Munster game on the 11th of May.

"Still got a little while to go but it's going good."

The last snapshot into Ireland's ongoing celebrations showed that even Johnny Sexton got in on the act.

In one snap he's grinning away with Jamison Gibson-Park as they savoured the sweet taste of a bottle of Bulmers.
