MACK HANSEN is a tough man to keep up with - both on the pitch as well as in the hairstyle department.

Every time we see the 26-year-old he seems to be sporting a new barnet.

And Thursday was no exception as he reappeared from a lengthy injury-enforced absence to promote Connacht's URC clash with Zebre on Saturday.

Speaking on Virgin Media, his words played second-fiddle to his striking new bleach blonde aesthetic.

But when we did adjust to his latest look his message started to hit home too as he went against the grain with his contribution to the ongoing debate about Leinster's perceived preferential treatment from the IRFU.

In the wake of All Blacks superstar Jordie Barrett signing on the dotted line for next year, there has been a lot of consternation in Connacht, Ulster and Munster circles.

After all, once Jamison Gibson-Park inks his expected central contract, The Blues will have TEN among their ranks while each of their other three provinces will have a solitary one apiece.

Iain Henderson, Bundee Aki and Tadhg Beirne will be the only recipients from next season onwards following Peter O'Mahony and Conor Murray coming off them in their latest extensions with The Reds.

But when grilled on whether resources are unfairly pumped towards Dublin, Hansen insisted: "Not really.

"I think a lot of their guys are from Dublin and have come through the program itself.

"Then to get put on central contracts that just shows what they're doing here is working.

"I don't think it necessarily works in their favour, it's just luck of the draw for them.

"They've got some really good players that go onto the centralised contracts with Ireland and saves them a bit of money to get these marquee players.

"Nobody really has a problem with the French teams that are doing it and whatnot so no point really complaining about it."

Barrett will only be joining on a six-month basis from December as he plans on taking a sabbatical from New Zealand.

The 27-year-old does boast more previous experience with Ireland than Hansen and the vast majority of foreign signings do upon their arrival.

That's because he and the rest of his famed family lived in Oldcastle, Meath for a couple of years during his childhood.
