MANCHESTER UNITED have agreed to personal terms to sign Joshua Zirkzee as they close in on a stunning double transfer, according to reports.
The Bologna striker has been a top target for the Red Devils after the club failed to land a forward in the January transfer window.
United have been given the "green light" from both Zirkzee and Bayern Munich's Matthijs de Ligt to join the club, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.
The Premier League club club closed a deal with 23-year-old Serie A star Zirkzee and now must simply decide whether to activate the £33m release clause, according to The Athletic.
Zirkzee emerged as United’s primary target as the club seeks to secure the services of a reliable talisman to compete with Rasmus Hojlund and replace Anthony Martial.
The 6ft 4in frontman scored 11 goals and laid on four assists in 34 Serie A matches in the 2023-24 season.
He was rewarded with a late call-up to Ronald Koeman's Netherlands squad for Euro 2024 - and could feature against England in the semi-finals on Wednesday.
Zirkzee marked his senior international debut after coming off the bench with three minutes to spare in Holland's quarter-final win over Turkey in Berlin on Saturday evening.
Meanwhile, fellow Dutchman De Ligt has made it clear that he only wants to make the move to Old Trafford.
The centre-back has rejected interest from Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain.
