CORK man-of-the-match Brian Hayes let an F-bomb on live TV as the Rebels celebrated beating Limerick to make the All-Ireland hurling final.

Hayes was immense in the Cork attack as they ended Limerick's drive for five on Sunday.

The St Finbarr's man to scored 1-04 in a thrilling Croke Park affair that went down to the final whistle.

After winning RTE's the man-of-the-match award, the 23-year-old was in high spirits during his post-match interview.

Asked how it felt to be in an All-Ireland final, Hayes replied: “Ah, it’s brilliant, f**king- it's everything we wanted at the start of the year.

"It's brilliant to see the Cork crowd like this."

"We deserve it, I think, after the first few games, we're just delighted.

Hayes highlighted the importance of hitting the ground running in training. 

"We had the two games- the preliminary quarter-final and the quarter-final- and we felt like we didn't perform as well as we wanted to. 

"We hit the ground running in training and we knew that we had it when we beat Limerick the last day, so we tried to do the same thing again today."

Hayes believes the standards manager Pat Ryan pushes in training is comparable to the toughest inter-county challenge.

He continued: "We're firm believers that the hardest games we're getting are internally,"

"Our A v B's are absolutely hopping every night.

"We need to drive that over the next two weeks."

Hayes lauded the impact of Irish Rugby performance coach Gary Keegan has had in building resiliency within the Cork squad since returning to the setup in 2021.

He said: "We believe 100% in our own team- that's testament to Gary Keegan, we do a lot of work with him.

"We had that belief regardless of the results and getting pipped at the end.

"We just believed and believed, and thankfully we got over the line there again in the end today.
