BOHEMIANS have beaten off competition from St Pat’s to land Dawson Devoy.

The Dublin rivals had been locked in a battle to land the midfield schemer who has a year to run on his contract at MK Dons.

But it is understood that the 22-year-old was persuaded to return to Dalymount Park after intensive talks over the weekend.

He will become the sixth arrival at the club during the transfer window following the previous signings of Ross Tierney, Leigh Kavanagh, Archie Meekison, Alex Greive and Liam Smith

Devoy played alongside Tierney to good effect in his first spell with the club, helping the club through two rounds of the Europa Conference League and to reach the FAI Cup final in 2021.

Tierney left for Motherwell at the end of that campaign and, whilst Devoy signed a new contract to remain with Bohs, he joined MK Dons the following July.

He made 44 appearances in his first campaign in Milton Keynes but was powerless to save them from relegation from League One.

And, after appearing more infrequently in League Two, he was loaned to Swindon Town where he scored three goals in 16 outings.

His capture is a welcome boost ahead of their FAI Cup clash with Shamrock Rovers on Friday.

Bohs are in poor form, having taken just three points from their last six games, with their last win coming away to Sligo Rovers almost two months ago.
