THE 149th RDS Dublin Horse Show starts tomorrow, August 14, and will run until August 18.

Over 1,600 horses and ponies will compete in over 165 classes and competitions for a prize fund of over €1.4 million.

It will be the 149th edition of the Dublin Horse Show, which is now part of the Rolex Grand Prix Series, with the International Grand Prix boasting a prize fund of €500,000.

Here is everything you need to know about the RDS Dublin Horse Show.

When is it on and what is the schedule?

The RDS Dublin Horse Show kicks off on Wednesday, August 14, and will run until Sunday, August 18.

It all kicks off at noon in Dublin 4, with the total prize money over which participants will compete being €1,467, 325.

The RDS Dublin Horse Show will acknowledge the contribution of Jessica Harrington and Col Ned Campion August 15.

Also on August 15, the Best Dressed at the RDS Dublin Horse Show takes place will be named, with the winner walking away with €10,000.

On August 16, there is the FEI Jumping Nations Cup, the prize money for which is €250,000, while the Defender Puissance is on August 17.

Eight teams will compete in the Nations Cup: Belgium, France, Great Britain, Ireland, the Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland and United States of America.

The big one on the final day - Sunday, August 18 - is the Rolex International Grand Prix of Ireland, prize money for which is €500,000.

How much are tickets?

Tickets range in prices, with punters offered a variety of options for how to attend.

The full price general admission ticket for all five-days will set you back €70, lowering to €55 for under-16s, students, and OAPs.

As for seated tickets for all five days, it will cost punters €116.60.

Tickets can also be bought on per-day basis, with general admission tickets costing €24, family of five gaining entry for €70, and under-16s, students, and OAPs getting in for €18.

Seated tickets are priced at €39 a pop per day.

The event, which is for over 18s only, will take place in The Camden, Dublin 2, from 6.15pm – 9pm.

The ticket includes a complimentary drink for attendees and each ticketholder will be entered into a draw for a chance to win a pair of match tickets to the big game in the Aviva on Saturday September 7.

Where can I watch it?

RTE 2 will televise portions of the RDS Dublin Horse Show, with their first day of coverage being on Friday, August 16.

Coverage will start at 1:45pm and will be presented by legendary former jockey Ruby Walsh.

RTE 2 will continue its coverage on Saturday at 6pm, with Walsh once again presenting, while Sunday's final day of action will be shown on RTE 2 from 2:45pm.
