The station has exclusive rights to the Europa League and Conference League group stages and will broadcast all Rovers’ matches.

But it is unclear if the Europa League play-off against PAOK, secured by Graham Burke’s winner against Celje on Thursday, will be on the box.

To date, none of the European games this summer involving Rovers, St Pat’s, Shelbourne or Derry have been available on TV, though all were streamed.

Rovers’ group games, whether in the Europa League or Conference League, will be in Tallaght with the ground kitted out to Uefa standards.

And boss Stephen Bradley said he would rather play at the 10,000 capacity venue than chase extra revenue by switching to the bigger Aviva Stadium.

He said: “If the board came to me and said the Aviva is the way to go for financial reasons, no problem.

"You have to understand that.

“If I had my way, it would be Tallaght as I think those fans deserve it.

"You can create that demand for tickets and people will want to come.

“And hopefully off the back of that you get an extra 1,000 bums on seats for your domestic games.”
