He travelled to Teesside to hold face-to-face talks with Boro boss and his former Crystal Palace manager Tony Pulis on Monday.

And today Bolasie was at Villa’s Bodymoor Heath HQ to chat with Steve Bruce over his potential switch.

Both Championship promotion hopefuls have offered similar financial packages to Everton and the Toffees are happy for the attacker to join either club.

Now it is down all down to the DR Congo international to decide which option to choose.

But that move failed to materialise before the transfer deadline leaving Bolasie in limbo.

He will now have to drop down a tier or risk being frozen out in the wilderness at Goodison Park until at least January.
