Fabian Delph facing Everton talks after rowing with fan over Instagram following Liverpool defeat

FABIAN DELPH is set to be hauled in for talks by Everton after posts emerged of an expletive-laden Instagram argument with a Toffees fan.

The players are coming in for some criticism after an abject display in losing to fierce rivals Liverpool in the FA Cup third round.

Jurgen Klopp fielded a team comprised mainly of kids, but still saw Curtis Jones' brilliant striker win it for the Reds 1-0.

Furious Everton fans even turned up at the club's Finch Farm training base to slam the players' commitment, and were talked to by director of football Marcel Brands.

And Delph, who has hardly set the world on fire since joining the club from Manchester City for £10million in the summer, appears to have responded to one angry fan on social media.

After being called "embarrassing", Delph, 29, wrote: "If you was in front of me now you wouldn't say a word."

The fan replied: "Wanna f***ing bet", to which Delph answered: "Not a word".

After being told by the Toffees supporter that "all 13 from Sunday" are a "f***ing disgrace" Delph joked that they would "ask for a picture".

The former Aston Villa and Leeds midfielder then calls the fan "a disgrace" and a "gob s***e".

Delph also appears to have got into an argument with another fan, before calling them a "delusional little boy".

ANCELOTTI RAGING

The spat will clearly do little to heal the developing rift between the players and fans, with hopes of a top-six Premier League finish this season well and truly over.

New boss Carlo Ancelotti joined the supporters in expressing his rage when he read the riot act to his flops.

The Everton gaffer questioned the attitude of his players during an angry dressing-room blast.

Just four games since taking over as manager, Italian Ancelotti has already lost patience with a number of them, with Gylfi Sigurdsson among those he is expected to dump as soon as he can.

The £45m Icelandic playmaker admitted after the Liverpool loss that Toffees players were fighting for their futures.

But SunSport understands Ancelotti has already given up on the 30-year-old, who has 18 months to run on his £5m-a-year Goodison contract.

And incredibly goalkeeper and England No1 Jordan Pickford could also be replaced between the sticks, with SunSport revealing Ancelotti wants to pass the gloves on.
