Kristin captioned the post: "It’s happening…. Big fat ‘YES’ from me #engaged."

Judging by the post, it seems the proposal happened at Ashford Castle in Mayo.

Aidan and Kristin first met while out in Dublin, but due to her work commitments it would be a while before romance blossomed between them.

Speaking to RSVP LIVE recently he said: "We met in Dublin a couple of years ago and stayed in touch.

"She went to London to work as a nurse, there was a bit of back and forth and then she came back to Dublin to go to college here so we’ve been together for a couple of years now.”

"Kristin is the lead nurse at the Harley Medical Group, which provides cosmetic surgery, laser and skin treatments. She's also a model, and represented by Upfront Model Agency."

During his free time from GAA training, Aidan assumes the role of a Senior Planning Manager at Allergan, a pharmaceutical company situated in Westport.

O'Shea is enjoying his off-season after his Mayo side were knocked out of the All-Ireland by Dublin in the quarter-finals.

Goals in each half from star man Colm Basquel had the Dubs in the driving seat for most of the day as they banished their 2021 All-Ireland semi-final defeat to their old foes in style.

Mayo only scored 0-3 in the second half and looked jaded in their third championship game in as many weeks.

Dublin bullied them in a ruthless second half display as they kicked 1-7 without reply to kill the game.

Dublin now face Kerry in the All-Ireland final on Sunday at Croke Park.

THE FINAL

The Kingdom pipped The Sky Blues at the semi-final stages last year en route to ending a relative famine of eight years.

But the modern era has not brought nearly as many showpiece deciders between the two most decorated counties in the country as the 1970s and 1980s did.

The rise of Ulster football as well as a great, if ultimately unsuccessful Mayo side, meant that there's been far more variety in final match-ups over the past 20 years or so.

But these two still leave everyone else trailing in their wake in the all-time roll of honour.

Sunday awaits the big clash but tonight's joy is shared between the newly engaged Aidan and Kristin.
