In his shoutout, Brady praised the UFC star for his 'unbelievable' work ethic and his 'never-give-up' attitude.

Brady also said that he was inspired by McGregor's story, which is one of 'rise, fall, and rise again'.

The ex-Buccaneers star also promoted the documentary, writing: "McGregor Forever streaming now on Netflix."

Aside from all the praise he's getting, McGregor himself was not fully happy with how the documentary went.

According to The Sunday World, the UFC star did not have the freedom of creativity he would have preferred with the four-episode documentary.

He told them: "“I didn’t have creative control of it.

“I’m the creator, so I wasn’t necessarily happy.

“I loved the story. I wouldn’t change it, but I would add my magic.

"And the fact that my adding of the magic was kind of torn away, when it was not supposed to be, I felt a bit led into it to be honest.

"But I’m happy how it went, it is how it is.”

Fans online have seemed to agree with Brady's views on the Netflix production.

Many said they found the documentary emotional and inspiring as they took to social media to hail the new series.

One claimed: "It’s very emotional so far. I absolutely love watching the journey of my fav fighter. It feels like you’re there with him and I’m just two episodes in. Amazing Conor. God bless"

Another tweeted: "Great Documentary brother. Good to see behind the scenes to understand better about a fighters’s life after defeat or Victory. God bless you. Will be rooting for you against Mike Chandler."

McGregor is due to return to the Octagon later this year when he takes on Michael Chandler.

The date and venue are unknown but an announcement is imminent.

Tom Brady is one of the most successful sportspeople in the world and his praise is likely to attract even more attention to McGregor's latest work.
